Sindh Institute of Child Health and Neonatology (SICHN) is a over-arching body established under the administrative control of the Health Department of Government of Sindh to look after the matters of child health in the province of Sindh.
Under the umbrella of SICHN, we aim to develop hospitals and health facilities in the field of Pediatrics and Neonatology. We would be developing specialized services like Neonatology, Pediatric Intensive Care, and other sub-specialties like Neurology, Oncology, Endocrinology, Gastro-enterology. We also aim to develop various specialties under Pediatric Surgery, like urology, neonatal surgery, GI, Orthopedics, Plastics and Neurosurgery.
In addition to developing new hospitals, SICHN will also support the already existing health facilities in Sindh which are dealing with pediatric and neonatal care and will establish a network of these centres to improve their performance.
There is also a great need for pediatric rehabilitation facilities all across Sindh, where we will establish such facilities or collaborate with institutes providing such services.
As a degree awarding body, the institute has a mandate of developing the most important asset of human resource at all levels involved in child health including nursing, technicians, paramedics and doctors training.

Dr. Syed Rehan Ali is the Head of the Department (HOD) of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Children Hospital, Korangi # 5. He is a highly skilled and experienced neonatologist, specializing in the care of newborns who are critically ill, premature or have other medical complications.
